What’s the latest with you all? I’ve been a bit delinquent with my blog posts of late as some mornings I’d read the news and there was nothing I wanted to comment on. Buckle in as here we go.
Phil Mickelson had his short game firing on all cylinders. Bunker play, from the rough, it didn’t seem to matter where you’d see him get dialed in. Bravo that he seems to have found his game.
We had dinner last night with our friends Eric and Nicole. Excellent dinner. Good people. Good conversation. Half-way through dinner, Eric brings up that I had played basketball at 24-hour fitness last week. What wasn’t said was my larger self had given up the game of basketball on my doctor’s advice, “Do you want to be mobile and able to run at fifty to seventy years old? Keep playing as I never see guys that age without knee and a plethora of other injuries.” So golf it was. Then last week, I was given an opportunity as a buddy at my local gym asked if I’d be available as an alternate. That cat was out of the bag, and I got the lecture last night when our friend’s left. I feel like that bus took off to back over me. 😂Back to just golf.
Coronavirus is infecting more and there have been more deaths reported in China. Now, the Coronavirus has killed more people than SARS. I found an excellent piece on the NYTimes talking about everything they’re doing to try and get to a vaccine. I highly suggest giving it a read.
Tonight’s the Academy Awards. Yep – it’s that evening where everyone gets all dolled up and blah blah blah. We’ll see who gets awards for best actors, writers, directors, and of course, the best picture.
My favorites of the year: Joker, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Jo Jo Rabit. If you haven’t seen JoJo give it a watch.
Did you catch the New Hampshire Debate? I’ll give you some highlights
My step-son Tommy and I have been following it moderately close. My wife brings up the term,”Electability.” Well, that ain’t no science. Researchers and political analyst try hard to predict which candidate has the highest electability. Even candidates use considerable amounts of time on the campaign trail trying to justify why they’re more electable than another candidate. Five-Thirty-Eight had an excellent write-up discussing this better than I’m doing here.
Have an excellent Sunday everyone!
