Tiger Woods is Back

Tiger Woods

I think the Las Vegas odds for him basically says it all.

This video sums up some of the excitement for Tiger Woods. I give you USA Today

Brandel Chamblee

Brandel’s own words ,”I’d be shocked if he can figure the chipping out…”

Boom! Very next day he’s chipping. Maybe you should save your reviews for when you’ve seen him play four tournament rounds in competition. But to base your analysis on just one tournament, this tech guy says,”You need more data sir.”

I even couldn’t resist giving Brandel the comment direct from me –

Kelly to the Defense. Happy Friday

Kelly to the Defense

Interesting that he mentions ‘Joe Dunford’ as his casualty officer. He was my Battalion Commander at Camp Lejeune and was one hell of an officer. Though having a locked company officer made a bigger difference than a locked on Battalion Commander. I’ll explain more in the future.

My takeaway on Kelly. So what exactly is John Kelly defending? The statement that President Obama did not extend condolences to Mr. Kelly, which appears false, given that President Obama hosted Mr. Kelly at luncheon for parents whose children died in military service or the statement that President Trump made to the family of Sgt. Johnson. Or is Mr. Kelly defending the utter lack of preparedness that President Trump brings to every facet of his presidency, in which he refuses to be engaged and prepared before conducting the business of president, including consoling the families of fallen soldiers?

In any event, Mr. Kelly’s statements to do not seem to comprehend the fact that Mr. Trump’s comments to a Sgt. Johnson’s family were profoundly upsetting.

Cubs Lose

I saw this one coming. After the first half of their season I thought they might have some issues with kicking the offense into gear.

Congratulations to the new champions of the National League.

They still have a lot to be proud of….and so goes the plannning for what games we’re going to next year. Nope – still not going to see the Padres. HaHa.

Kirkland Ball Back….

KirklandSig-1021x580

The Costco Kirkland golf ball was back in stock for a day. Did you happen to be one of those few that logged in and was able to buy two dozen? *Cough* I was.

Few more days until Halloween…

Stranger Things comes out on Netflix soon.

Hey It’s Thursday

Golf Update

fd53c71427040fa575ff7411543316a6

I played a round of golf yesterday with the guys. Update on the guys in a bit. Have you tried this new Titleist AVX ball? It’s very good and being sold in sleeves on ebay higher than what they’re being sold here in California. This is the ball that is being tested by Titleist in three markets – California, Arizona, and Floria. My review on the ball. It’s soft and on average I was hitting it about 8-10 yard further than the Pro V1 ball. Putting with it you can really tell how soft the ball is. What gets me? It’s the same price point as their existing ProV’s. So they’re really making it known that it’s not an inferior ball.

Back to the guys: I decided some audio would be best.

Cubs Win

Ryne Sandberg brings his grandkids to the ball park. How awesome is this?!?

Thomas Wraps up Player of the Year

Justin Thomas wins again

Justin Thomas pulled off another tournament and went head to head with Jordan Spieth. The two were long time friends and it’s been no secret that they’ve been pushing each other.

flash forward to today.

The lives these “kids” live is just so out of touch from the greats of Arnold Palmer, Jack, and Gary Player.

PGA Championship 2017

Well, it starts tomorrow for those that are golf fans. This, for this year, will be the last major of the year.  Rory McIlroy is the favorite based on how he won in 2010 and how he’s coming into form.

T5 at Firestone. All rounds under par.

Quail Hallow is a fun course during the year. Now, they’ve lengthened the course on a few holes and it’s really going to be a bombers paradise.  Rory is my pick but I have a feeling it’ll be any bomber that has an “on’ game. Dustin Johnson during today’s press conferences sounded very confident in his game – he’s another fellow to be reckoned with. Especially when he says that he’s driving it the best he has all year.

Anyone see Rory hitting the ball 300 yards in a space suit recently?

US Open and Doctor’s Visit

The US Open on Fox

While – yes – I have enjoyed the coverage. Some of the commentary is just completely silly. Azinger talking about how he doesn’t understand ‘Aimpoint’. That’s great but it’s your job to explain it to the viewer. Not just say ,”Hit the putt.” That’s not your job as a commentator.

Holly-Sonders-Most-Beautiful-Women-Golf-16

Also, Holly Sonders is being completely underutilized. Also to a point where I would find it insulting if I’m her. She should be an on the course commentator. Instead, you’ve got her stowed away doing one-minute segments every three hours or so. Why?!? That’s a waste of her talent and golf knowledge. Yes I’m sure Fox would love the ratings. But cmon.

Doctors Visit

I’m 40 in just under two weeks. So, my wife organized some blood work and check-ups beforehand. Maybe this was just her way of making me feel old. LOL. I love the first words out of my Doctor today….

“Forty is seriously just a number. The body doesn’t know it any different.”

I’m more concerned with this issue that I’ve been having when wearing contacts. After a few hours, I see this haze and my eyesight gets a bit blurry. I don’t think it’s ‘dry eye’. Maybe though?!? When I had an Optometry test they thought they saw something on my eye. So now I’m off to the next specialist in two weeks. The really odd part to me is when I wear my glasses that my eyesight is fully what it should be and I don’t see the haze or blurriness. Quite odd.

Classic Ernie Els

In classic Ernie Els fashion, he penalized himself after chipping in for eagle. He wasn’t sure if the ball was his – so he proceeded to mark it to identify it. Then claim the ball came out too well based on how he put it back.

“The ball came out too good,” Els told reporters after his round. “So I felt I didn’t quite probably put it exactly where I should have.”

“It’s one of those things. The game of golf is what it is,” Els said. “I know deep down the ball wasn’t quite where it should be, and you know, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. So be it. It’s a five, and we move on.”
